Summary: We found some great unlimited
providers during our review process, so while it was
difficult naming just one of them the "best",
NNTPjunkie would be at the top of our list. When you
look at all the comparison points... account
features performance, etc... NNTPjunkie delivers the
best overall package at the best price (see
Unlimited Provider Comparisons).
NNTPjunkie's upload & download speeds were fast when
we tested their servers, and their connection limit
(32) was 4x times larger than the next cheapest
provider (Newshosting - 8 connection limit). We
downloaded a full newsgroup list from each provider
for one of our speed benchmarks, and NNTPjunkie had
the fastest time so far (1,971 groups per sec).
Completion rates were at 99+%, and NNTPjunkie
recently increased their multi-part binary retention
to 140 days, which should provide a comfortable
window for most newsgroup users. NNTPjunkie's
unlimited plans were the cheapest ($12.50 month) of
all the providers we reviewed, with the next closest
being Newshosting ($12.95 month) and UsenetServer
($13.32 month). They also have an inexpensive 30 GB
metered plan for $9.95 that will automatically
rollover unused download capacity each month.
As far as free extras, NNTPjunkie accounts include
NNTP & Web access, SSL encryption, newsgroup search,
and email boxes... which is a nice addon if you
don't like posting with your personal email
addresses. The replies we received from NNTPjunkie's
support staff were fast & helpful, with an average
response time of 38 minutes.? |
